REDUCING WASTE SINCE ‘86
ROKIT began with a love of vintage denim. In the 1980s, we saw first hand the beginning of fast-changing trend cycles, leading to clothes being chucked out at an unprecedented level.
We couldn’t just sit by and watch our first love, vintage denim, get thrown away. So we started collecting and selling on pre-loved denim.
Our love for clothes & hate for waste has only grown since the ROKIT’s birth. So has our understanding of what we can do to help the planet & people
OWNING CIRCULARITY
Since 1990, we have been working with Trans-Continental Textile Recycling in British Columbia, Canada, to source the best quality vintage and secondhand clothing from North America.Trans-continental Textile Recycling only works with the Western world, nothing is exported and dumped in ragyards.
Each day they recycle 30 tonnes of textiles and supply 4 tonnes of cleaning materials to developing countries, wroking alongside charities to support local communities.
QUALITY & CARE
Every ROKIT garment has been quality checked and laundered by our dedicated team.
Sometimes we receive items that don’t meet our standard of quality. That’s why we have our in-house team, Rokit Originals, that reworks and repurposes textiles that might otherwise go to waste.
We work closely with our local charity partner, The North London Hospice. Since 1984, they have provided invaluable care and comfort for those with life limiting and terminal illnesses. Each week, we donate a package of laundered clothing for patience.
SHIPPING
We’re always looking for ways to reduce our environmental footprint. This is why we never air freight our sourced clothing from Canada, opting for shipping the goodies by sea.
In the UK, our stores receive stock from our conveniently situated ROKIT HQ by ultra low emissions vehicle, soon to be electric van.
